Physical Therapists are experts in movement and function. Therefore their main focus is to make sure you continue moving and functioning in the manner you want. People often think that therapists are specifically utilized following a surgery or major injury. However, physical therapy can be a vital option to prevent injury, loss or movement, or perhaps surgery. Refer to our solutions page to see if there is something that we can help you with or don’t hesitate to call and ask us if we can be of service to you.

Yes, the option of choosing where you receive physical therapy is up to you. Many times we will receive your referral from a physician but decision of where you obtain therapy is ultimately your choice. We recommend that decision be based on a place you feel comfortable at and one where they make you feel like a priority. We also recommend stopping by to “feel” out the place and “interview” your therapist.

In most cases yes, therapy will be covered by insurances.  All insurance plans are different so we make sure to check your physical therapy benefits according to your plan, but we do encourage each patient to check with their provider as well.

Our practice is a provider for many different insurance plans.  The best thing to do is call us and we can answer all your questions regarding insurances.

Billing for physical therapy is similar to what happens at the doctor’s office. When you see us for treatment the following will occur.

  • The physical therapist bills your insurance, Workers Comp, or charges you per their guidelines
  • The payer processes information that was billed and makes payments according to the agreed upon fee schedule
  • An Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is generated and sent out to the patient and the physical therapy clinic with a check for payment and a balance due for patient
  • The patient is expected to make the payment on the balance if any.

Things to have on 1st day:

  • Photo ID
  • Health Insurance Card
  • Referral (we may have already on file)
  • Paperwork (if you decided to complete online prior to appointment)

We recommend you show up 15 minutes early wearing something comfortable as well as accessible to the area we will be treating. Initial evaluation will last about an hour and will consist of gaining a thorough history and also physical examination.  Based on the findings we will come up with a specific individualized plan of care.  We will explain to you our findings and educate you on all aspects of the plan of care.

Most patients will need to continue with their home exercise program provided to them by their therapist.  Our clinic offers the AfterCare Program, which allows you to use equipment as needed and be monitored by therapist.

We understand that flare-ups/exacerbations can happen and when an individual has completed therapy they may not continue with HEP as thoroughly or in the correct manner as advised.  We may suggest you modify your HEP and activity, return to see us, or possible return to your doctor to follow up with him.

Many people don’t know that physical therapy is an option for them.

Please do not hesitate to call us today with any questions you may have or to schedule an appointment.
